Protect yourself from amputation
Did you know zip code 19132 has the highest amputation rate in Pennsylvania? Black men are at the highest risk. Diabetes and smoking are the leading risk factors. A simple test can save your legs. A blood pressure cuff is placed on your ankle and the doctor listens for the blood flow in your feet. It only takes 4-minutes, but can save your legs.

The Frazier Family Coalition for Stroke Education and Prevention is a collaboration between Jefferson Health and Temple Health, coordinated through the Vickie and Jack and Farber Institute for Neuroscience.

Frazier Family Coalition promotes the health of the community through a multifaceted program aimed at reducing the number of strokes — an especially urgent need, since stroke is the fourth-highest cause of death in Philadelphia.
